Sybase® Adaptive Server® Enterprise Editions

A new licensing model is introduced for ASE SBE. Chip-based pricing now replaces core-based pricing for ASE SBE. It is limited to machines with a maximum configuration of 2 chips; it can start as many as
8 engines. Networked License Model (Server/Seat) is still available, but also subject to the 2-chip restriction. ASE Express Edition & Developer Edition can be installed/run on machines of any size (multi-processor machines), ASE will only take advantage of one of those processors, and in the case of XE, only 2GB memory and 5GB disk space. XE is available only on Linux x86 , Linux x86-64, and Linux OpenPower. *The following features, available separately as options in 12.5, are included in ASE 15 - DTM, Content Management, XML Management, Web Services.
