How to install a new Sybase ASE Server on Sun Solaris Unix
Guys,
Could you please list out the steps or instructions in installing a new Sybase ASE on Solaris OS.Though it is a elementary responsibilty of a Sybase DBA, this is definitely helpful for those who are very new to Sybase DBA. Please note that this cannot be like a conventional installation guide. A document detailing all the instructions will be really good. With installation Logs is much better ! cannot ask for more ! The below tasks should be included . 1.Downloading the Sybase ASE Software 2.System requirements to run Adaptive Server. 3.Pre-installation tasks. 4.Installation of a fresh Sybase ASE server 5.Post installation tasks. 6.Best practices if any Please add to the list if i miss anything. Thanks, JP PS: Once this is done we will move on to overlay installation / upgradation of existing sybase ase. JP, TechSupport-Member(SybaseTeam.Com) |
